A very ambitous solo record. Album has excellent pacing and moves from track to track without tedium. Production on the album sounds massive.
Favorite track: The Disappointed God.
In this album I wanted to paint a wholesome picture about the world from the beginning to these days not in a factual “NatGeo” way. Instead I want you to think of abstract painting, were each brush stroke is there for a reason, has its own meaning and purpose thus completing its concept.
Even though the artist knows exactly what their work represents, if the audience does not read the title carefully, they might see anything into it. In this occasion, we hear/see people with “huge” artistic knowledge and precision saying, “even they don’t know what it is, why selling it so expensive?”. I, by this statement, want to draw these people’s attention to the fact that it’s not the case here. The above example shows what was meant by me and the Abiogenesis album and how it should be interpreted.
I should also clarify that it’s not a Metal album per se. In terms of instruments we van hear oboe, clarinet, trumpet, piano, eastern and Asian instruments, violin on the album. The tone and melody switches back and forth from rougher to softer, more pleasant soundings.
Although, Abiogenesis is an instrumental album, the song titles were not given by chance and not after being written, but beforehand. Meaning, for this album, first came the concept, then the titles and after that the songs, written one by one according to those titles.
On the songs:
01. Abiogenesis:
“Abiogenesis, or informally the origin of life, is the natural process by which life has arisen from non-living matter, such as simple organic compounds. (…) The transition from non-living to living entities was not a single event, but an evolutionary process of increasing complexity.” /Wikipedia.com/
The opening song presents the events starting from the big bang up until the first appearance of humans on earth.
There is not much of a mystery around that song, rather it’s a colorful and eventful journey to which the listener’s imagination is invited and guided through.
Quite interesting that the opening of the song itself has been added months later the song was actually written. I had several ideas regarding the opening, but neither of them were completely satisfying, but on one Saturday after 2 hours of composing it just came out.
02. Human
This song is invited to show the appearance of the human race on earth.
I want it to represent most of the human characteristics known to me. So, the song has friendship, kindness, mercy, passion in it, but also shows destruction, anger, jealousy and wrath.
03. Distorted Sense of Self
The title represents one of the basic symptoms of Borderline syndrome. “The mental illness characterized by a long-term pattern of unstable relationships, a distorted sense of self, and strong emotional reactions. There is often self-harm and other dangerous behavior. Those affected may also struggle with a feeling of emptiness, fear of abandonment, and detachment from reality.” /Wikipedia.com/
It simply shows the formation of humanity after its appearance on earth; besides this, there’s no need for more explanation, I think.
04. Submergence
I always loved art history classes and during one lesson on Roman art my teacher got into more details than usual, describing it in the following way, “It happened at the time when Rome peaked economically, but was morally lower than ever, when it weakened irreversibly and ultimately collapsed”.
The song is written in such concept and is intended to present the moral situation of the humanity. Should I talk about it? I don’t know. I think the alternative title for the song could even be “Unconscious consciousness”. Oh, I didn’t help with that either?..
Well, it paints an artistic picture of submergence. Submergence into the wastes and submergence into the marvels while the scales collapse.
05. Cain
Cain doesn’t need to be introduced, regardless of their faith or faithless, everyone is familiar with the story of Cain and Abel.
Cain’s anger and jealousy is a symbol for all people in this song. The melody is angry, sometimes cynical, one may say even guilty sinister on purpose. In the song you can hear Serga Kasinec’s fantastic and at the same time spine chilling growl.
As per the album’s concept, at this point we hit the bottom.
06. The Disappointed God
The song shows God’s disappointment over humanity, there’s no need for further explanation.
07. Heritage
In my perspective, with this song we arrive to the present days. Here we are in our own heritage on earth, coexisting with every happiness, joy and all the sins, anger left behind by us.
The song concentrates on those mentioned above. Hopefully, I managed to emphasis what I think of our future and responsibilities in it, I won’t write them down though. I hope it can symbolize it properly.
All those listening to the songs one after another, I believe will get the concept described above in many words.
Huge thank you to everyone, who listens, streams and/or buys my new “Abiogenesis” album!
Each like, share and comment will be warmly welcomed, and much appreciated!

He basically composed and produced his own tracks on the Progressive Metal line. His music is characterized by polyrhythm and heavy riffs alternating with light melodies. He also writes various ambient songs under the name "Insomnia Project", mostly in Dark ambient style....more
Significantly heavier and proggier than Outside the Universe, this album also lives up to its name. In general, Widek is a very cosmic-themed project but this album really hits with those space vibes. The atmosphere is so celestial and beautiful, even among the heaviness, but it also makes you feel like you're swimming in a limitless expanse. If you are burned out on life, listen to this album and it'll take you on a serene, solitary Journey to the Stars! Challenging Apathy
The most insane and beautiful instrumental album i have ever heard. Stephen is super talented. The atmosphere is unmatched, i could go on and on about how much i love this album. sprankton
